Tata Nano Price Increased Once Again – Rs.9000 Hike Posted: 29 Oct 2010 04:30 AM PDT Tata has always been proud of its very adored Common Man's car, the Tata Nano which is helping the company grow very impressively. The car being the world's cheapest car has received a lot of appraisal and attracted masses from across the world but has also went through numerous speculations when a few fire accidents were encountered. Few months back the company increased the price of Nano by Rs.5000 due to BS IV emission norms and later by an enormous amount of Rs.30000 due to increasing input costs. These hikes made critics point their fingers on it and some even quoted that it no longer remains the 1 Lakh Rupee car. From November 1st, 2010 the price of the car will be bumped by Rs.9000 and the reason is again said to be the offset rising production costs. Earlier in July one of the company officials said "Tata Motors is taking a minor price increase on the Tata Nano, effective from November 1, to partially neutralise the steep increase in input costs in the last two years. The average increase is about Rs. 9,000 (ex-showrooms), with prices varying from city to city and model to model," "As of now, Tata Motors has announced open sales of the Tata Nano in Kerala (since August 2010) and Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal (since October 2010)," he added. It certainly becomes a matter of concern for the company since if the price of Nano keeps on increasing the way it is doing, then a day will come when it will no longer remain the choice of the Common Man of India.
