Posted: 28 Oct 2010 09:20 AM PDT Ford has released the first details of the Ford Start which is due to start production in 2014. The 2014 Ford Start was unveiled as a concept car at the 2010 Beijing auto show in China. Speculation is that it will be the replacement model for the small Ford Ka.
The 2014 Ford Start will be powered by a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine assisted by a turbo and direct-injection fuel management system. This would then be controlled via a six-speed manual transmission. The exact specifications have not been released yet but according to internet resources it should develop around 100hp with a low emission level. One of the many Ford technologies that are being developed for the car includes a voice activation system that will control the air conditioning, vehicle diagnostics and other features of the car. Mercedes concept 358 unveiled in Australia auto show Posted: 28 Oct 2010 07:20 AM PDT Mercedes Benz has unveiled their Concept 358 at the 2010 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. The Mercedes Concept 358 is based on the C63 AMG and is the only C63 to come with the Pearl Orange paint design. It was developed to introduce the AMG Performance Package Plus and its power upgrade of 358kW.
The Mercedes Concept 358 was developed by Mercedes-Benz Australia and built by AMG exclusively for the 2010 Australian International Motor Show. It showcases the 19-inch multi spoke alloy wheels in black, KEYLESS-GO and extended leather interior fittings offered by the AMG Performance Package Plus. Mercedes Concept 358 is powered by 6.3-liter (6208cc) V8 engine to produce 358 kW (480 hp / 487 PS) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the added power, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Related Posts You may Find Interesting |
Googles self driving Toyota Prius: Video Posted: 28 Oct 2010 06:59 AM PDT One thing that has been in the news lately is the self driving Toyota Prius developed by Google. The driver less Google car has been caught on various spy videos in America and ABC paid a visit to Google to find out more about their self-driving Toyota Prius.
The Google Toyota Prius uses a special laser system that works as a radar and helps the car navigate through traffic. Google developed the driverless vehicle to demonstrate technology that could one day cut traffic accidents in half. Posted: 28 Oct 2010 04:45 AM PDT German automaker, BMW has announced that they will be returning to DTM – the German Touring Car Championship in 2012. BMW left the series back in 1994 and are rejoining the European race with hopes of winning the championship.
The details of the BMW M3 2012 DTM race car will be revealed at a later date but for now read what Dr Klaus Draeger, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG had to say: "The return of BMW to the DTM is a fundamental part of the restructuring of our motorsport activities. With its increased commitment to production car racing, BMW is returning to its roots. The race track is the perfect place to demonstrate the impressive sporting characteristics of our vehicles against our core competitors in a high-powered environment. Ken Block vs AJ Allmendinger: Video Posted: 28 Oct 2010 04:16 AM PDT Ford has released a series of short videos, named webisodes. These videos are part of an online campaign to promote the new Fiesta and shows Nascar driver AJ Allmendinger up against rally driver Ken Block while being watched by Nascar champion Richard Petty.
