With 15 laps completed, the #7 Audi R15 TDI died. Allan had been holding off an aggressive Anthony Davidson for a good 30 minutes, until he finally made it around. Davidson was attempting some hairy passes but all of them remained clean. Shortly after that, the R15 came to a crawl and then an eventual stop. Audi usually has the upper hand when it comes to reliability but this time it was not to be. The #8 sister car of Timo Bernhard and Dindo Capello will now have the pressure to carry Audi to a win.
