Posted: 21 Sep 2010 10:29 AM PDT

Compromise is one word that you would never find in the dictionary of the German manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. The ideology that these majors follow, focuses on offering the best possible combination of luxury and performance, that too at an affordable price.

Audi is all set to roll in its new Audi A8 before December but BMW has not waited for any time and today launched its very dynamic and macho 2010 BMW X5 at the Bird Automotive dealership in Gurgaon.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India said, "The new BMW X5 remains a benchmark and with greater supremacy than ever; it combines the joy of driving with elegance, efficiency, safety and unmatched performance"

BMW X5 is an answer to the competition imparted by the Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz M Class and will definitely give its rivals a run for their money.

Posted: 21 Sep 2010 03:42 AM PDT

Maruti Suzuki is working hard on its concept vehicle Maruti R3 which it had displayed in Auto Expo 2010 in Delhi. Maruti is now working hard to make a prototype of the production model and get it to testing in the year 2011. There have already been rumors of Maruti R3 launch in mid 2011, but this timeline seems short and unlikely. As per the latest updates from some sources, it is expected that the prototype testing will start in the year 2011 so that the production model of the R3 MPV car can be showcased in Auto Expo 2010.

The size of Maruti R3 MPV will be slightly smaller compared to the Toyota Innova MPV. The seating capacity of the R3 MPV will be of 7 adults. The platform of the car can be taken from SX4. The engine variants may include the 1.6 Litre 105 BHP engine featured in Maruti SX4, or the 1.3 Litre DDIS CRDI diesel engine which powers Maruti Swift Diesel. The R3 may also feature a 1.6 Litre DDIS CRDI Diesel Engine which is expected to debut with the Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel coming in Year 2011.

Maruti R3 MPV Price In India

Also the pricing can be really competitive with the base model prices close to Rs. 7 Lakh and the top variant close to Rs. 10 Lakh.

Maruti Alto K10 Selling Like Hot Cakes

Posted: 21 Sep 2010 03:13 AM PDT

Maruti Suzuki launched Maruti Alto K10 with 1 Litre K-Series engine on August 4,2010. It has been only 40 days and the sales of the new Maruti Alto K10 has crossed 20,000 mark. Its a massive sales number for any new launch. Part of this success is the already relied upon brand name of Maruti Alto and equally popular K-Series engine which has been powering A-Star and other cars from Maruti.

This is quite evident that such upgrades on an already reliable cars like Alto can pay off really well. Even before the launch of Alto K10, Alto was the largest selling car in India and addition of another variant with more muscle and looks makes it a hotter deal.

Maruti 800 Sales Increased Overseas As Its Phased Out From Indian Cities

Posted: 21 Sep 2010 01:40 AM PDT

Maruti Suzuki has phased out Maruti 800, the legendary small car of its time from 13 Indian citied where BS4 Emission norms were made mandatory. Maruti decided not to upgrade the Maruti 800 to BS4 Engine and still sell it in the cities where BS4 norms are not mandatory as yet. To its surprise, overall sales of Maruti 800 have increased after phase out from these cities. The reason is not domestic sales, but the exports.

This increase in export is a wonderful 91.5% in period of April to August 2010 compared to same period over last year. The car is exported to many countries including Algeria,Chile, Egypt etc. The domestic sales in India have however dropped by about 17%.
