Tata has been going very steady with the Common Man's car Tata Nano and strategically reopens its bookings in the scheduled states so as the customers reetain the level of interest in the car . It is doing amazingly well and has given the brand a lot of support and is expected to become the back bone of its sales in a few months from now.

In April we had informed you about Tata's plans of launching a larger car, expected to be called as Tata Dolphin falling in the segment exactly above the Tata Nano's since after the launch of the Nano, the brand has very accurately predicted the demands of the Indian customers.

Tata's CEO Carl-Peter Forster at the launch of Tata Aria confirmed the introduction of this new bigger car in 2012 and will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Alto and other 800CC cars in its segment. It is also said that the car's project is on the final stages of completion and the company has already approached the local vendors for further proceedings.

Now that the brand has already achieved a new position with introduction of Nano, its aspirations of competing against the largest selling car Alto does not surprise us. The segment that the Tata's will be targeting at with the new car covers almost 70% of the total market and if it succeeds leaving Alto behind, then it will definitely emerge as the ultimate car manufacturer.

But if you think this is only new product down the line for this segment then we ought to tell you that even Hyundai is preparing to enter it with a 800CC machine speculated to be the cheapest of them all. Whatever may be the case at the end of the day its the customers who will get benefited.

The official announcement has been made by the world's safest cars' manufacturer Volvo on the launch of its much awaited SUV, Volvo XC60 and 24th November is the decided date for its official entrance into the Indian Automobile market.

This will be the third offering by Volvo as Volvo XC90 suv and Volvo S80 sedan are already doing fine in the market. This new smaller car will target its foes including the Audi Q5 , Freelander 2 and the recently launched BMW X3. The company is working sincerely on expanding its portfolio in the Indian market and the new launch will definitely help this major in doing so.

The car will be imported as a CBU and will come equipped with a 2.4 Litre Turbodiesel CRDi engine and a 3.2 Litre MPFI Petrol engine with All Wheel Drive(AWD) along with all those high end luxury and safety features that the brand is popular for and will be priced competitively between Rs.38 to Rs.45 Lakh.

Volvo Auto India Managing Director Paul de Voijs stated, "With the new compact luxury SUV, we will expand our offerings to the Indian customers. XC60's technological innovations such as laser and camera-assisted automatic braking [city safety] will raise the bar in the compact luxury SUV segment. Imagine a car that uses laser and camera technology automatically to mitigate a collision if the driver does not respond in time!"

He further added, "The Volvo XC60 owes its appeal to the synthesis of strikingly sporty design and a range of intelligent and smart safety systems. It is essential to establish the differentiator in one's offering, the XC60 will not only redefine our technological DNA, but will also form an integral part of our volume expansion strategy for India going forward,"

Ford Figo Becomes 5th Best Selling Car – Replaces Tata Indica

Ford would have never expected Ford Figo to be such a tremendous hit in the Indian Automobile market as the car's success is gaining more and more pace day by day. It is really great for a brand like Ford which a few years back wasn't able to impress the Indian buyers, but now things have drastically changed.

Ford Fiesta and the Figo acted as the breakthroughs for the brand helping the company get back into the competition and get a firmer hold. The steadily rising Figo sales is definitely a reason for the company's celebration and making things even better is the latest news on the Figo which has made it bag a position in the top selling model's list.

Yes its true, Figo has successfully bagged the 5th best selling car position after replacing Tata Indica, putting the company in the top five list for the very first time in the history of Indian automobile industry.
