Following his fastest time in free practice on Friday, Alexandre Prémat also managed to set the fastest lap time in warm-up on Sunday morning: in the 30 minutes’ session, the Frenchman claimed first place with a lap time of 1:20.885 minutes. Prémat will be starting from eleventh place into the tenth DTM season round. With Miguel Molina, another Audi driver ended up second. The Spaniard came 0.218 seconds short of Prémat’s time. Maro Engel (Mercedes-Benz) was also quick with his 2008-spec car. The 25-year old was third fastest and was also the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver. While Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz) and Mattias Ekström (Audi) ended up fourth and fifth in warm-up, Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) was only 14th, 1.014 seconds down. Timo Scheider (Audi), Paul Di Resta, Jamie Green, Ralf Schumacher (all Mercedes-Benz) and Martin Tomczyk (Audi) completed the top ten. Contrarily to the previous two days, the track was damp on Sunday morning and the lap times were accordingly slower. On his fastest lap, Prémat was more than ten seconds slower than Gary Paffett’s qualifying time from yesterday. The tenth round of the season starts at 14.00 h and will cover a distance of 59 laps.
