Mahindra, MotoGP’s First Indian Company Posted: 13 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST |
Hi guys, Mahindra & Mahindra, a major Indian automobile company will be entering the 125cc class of the MotoGP world championships with its very own team in 2011.
Mahindra has previously bought Kinetic and added a 110cc commuter motorcycle to the small but ever expanding range. Its acquisition of Italian specialist engineering firm Engines Engineering a couple of years ago, however, is much more significant, not just for their motorcycle ambitions in India, but also their engineering skills across its automotive brands.
Engines Engineering has been very active in the sport, having made racing machines and also specialized components for some of the world`s best known racing teams.
It is expected that the team will be known as Mahindra and will enter a team of two riders in the 2011 season. The bikes, the riders and the team management would be made up of specialists from within Mahindra & Mahindra and the team would be based at the Engines Engineering facility in Italy.
Mahindra can expect to face Piaggio subsidiaries Gilera and Derbi and the dominant class leader, Aprilia.
The 2011 season will be the last for the 125cc two-stroke class for in 2012 this class changes to the Moto3 category for four-stroke motorcycles and this would also be a good test for the firm to perfect its approach to small capacity mass-produced bikes.
Factor in the fact that there would be an Indian MotoGP Grand Prix in 2012 at the Jaypee circuit in Noida, this Mahindra move may be coincidental but it bodes well for them in the overall scheme of things.

What’s up people? So I was doing my duty here at IPM by trolling around the internet for the next IPM Girl of the Month (yes, such a drag, but someone’s gotta do it!), when I came across this photoshoot video by Monster Energy Drink. Well, check it out first.
While there is no doubt that the video was professionally edited, I came away more amped than satisfied with checking out the fine honeys. I mean, yes, I saw plenty of flesh (albeit pieces of it), but the video never truly focused on any of the girls.
I did come away with some ideas on how we can improve our videos but don’t worry folks, you won’t get seizures from watching ours!
Stay tuned for more updates.
