Nissan Micra Diesel Price In India From Rs.5.58 Lakh To Rs.6.04 Lakh

The much anticipated Nissan Micra Diesel has been launched and is available in two variants XV and XV Premium which are distinguished by a couple of features. The XV is priced at Rs.5.58 Lakh while the XV Premium owing to the exceptional features is priced at Rs.6.04 Lakh, bot Ex-Showroom Delhi. We expect an on-road price to be between Rs. 6 and Rs. 7 Lakhs which is quite competitive.

Both the variants are propelled by the same 1.5 Litre CRDI diesel engine pumping out 63BHP @ 4,000rpm of peak power and 160 Nm @ 2,000rpm of peak torque and is offered with a 5-Speed gearbox.

Satoshi Matsutomi, vice president, product planning, Nissan Motor India said, "Nissan is offering the diesel engine in the Micra only in India. We will wait for customer feedback before we decide on anything else." Dinesh Jain of Hover Automotive India further added, "We have had an overwhelming response to the Micra, and at present we have bookings for about 8,000 cars."

Chevrolet Small Car Spark Wins Big Award For Quality

Chevrolet India has been clocking good sales with its small cars Chevrolet Beat and Chevrolet Spark. While the beat is a newer product for the Indian roads, the Spark has been around for a long time now and has made a lots of buyers happy. This small car has been rated on top of the Quality Award for the fourth consecutive year in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J.D Power Asia Pacific 2010. Chevrolet Beat has bagged the second position in the Premium Compact Car segment and the Chevrolet Tavera for the fourth time in a row bagged the second position in the Multi Utility Vehicle/Multi Purpose Vehicle – MPV segments respectively, facing equally stiff competition.

Commenting on this important win for Chevrolet, Mr. P. Balendran, Vice-President, General Motors India said,

The JD Power India IQS study, which serves as the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality, is measured at two to six months of ownership. The IQS examines more than 200 problem symptoms covering eight vehicle categories. Overall quality performance is based on both design quality and production quality problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), with lower scores indicating a lower rate of problem incidence and higher vehicle quality. The 2010 India Initial Quality Study, now in its fourteenth year, is based on evaluations from more than 7,000 owners who purchased a new vehicle between November 2009 and July 2010. It included 57 vehicle models covering 13 makes and was fielded from May to September 2010 in 20 cities across India.
