Gran Turismo 5 Tour de Paris: Video

To promote the release of one of the most eagerly awaited Playstation 3 games – Gran Turismo 5, the makers took an army of supercars to Paris, France and raced them in the center.


The supercars were dressed up the same as the cars that appear the game and were allowed to race in a closed section of the European city.

The vehicles were all driven by professional drivers and included;

Nissan GT-R
Lamborghini Murcielago SV
AC Cobra
Audi R8
Mercedes SLS AMG
Shelby Mustang
Renault Megane RS
Nissan 370Z
Aston Martin DB9 and many more.

Audi R8 race car crash: Video

Finnish Formula One racing driver – Heikki Kovalainen had a bit of a misfortune at the 2010 Race of Champions (ROC). The suspension failed on Kovalainen’s Audi R8 LMS race car causing him to crash.


Kovalainen came out without any major injuries after the crash, but his Audi R8 LMS race was badly damaged. This unfortunate incident took place in the first race of ROC.

The 2010 Race of Champions took place in Dusseldorf, Germany, and as in previous years, featured some of the biggest names in motorsport of the past year.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage vs V12 Vantage: Video

The new American TV program – Top Gear USA has finally arrived and in the latest episode the guys check out the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and also the V12 version.


During this video clip Rutledge Wood tests the two Vantages and then puts them in a head to head drag race.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is powered by a 4.7 liter engine developing 400bhp and 420Nm of torque. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is powered by a larger 6.0 liter engine which is good for 510 hp and 570 Nm of torque.

Audi TT GT4 race car

Audi has recently revealed the new Audi TT GT4 race car which appeared at a demonstration event at the DTM race in Shanghai with driver Frank Biela behind the wheel.


The Audi TT GT4 was developed by the Technical Development and Production divisions plus quattro GmbH and will be available for the 2012 customer sport program.

This new race car is powered by a 340 hp TFSI engine and comes with various improvement required by racing. The Audi TT GT4 is equipped with a roll-over cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank box and other safety mods. It also features the same front apron, rear apron and rear wing stem from the production version of the TT RS.

The Audi TT GT4 also has CFRP hood, doors and trunk lid and plastic windows for reduced weight. It also benefits from a modified suspension and rides on a set of 19 inch alloy wheels.

The Audi TT GT4 price is 120,000 Euros and will be sold in Europe and on the Asian market.

On the occasion of the DTM race in Shanghai, Audi presented the concept of a GT4 car based on the Audi TT. The TT, developed by the Technical Development and the Production divisions plus quattro GmbH, is intended to extend Audi's new modular customer sport program from 2012 forward.

With the production-based TT GT4, Audi wants to offer potential customers a base option for affordable motorsport. The vehicle's platform is a motorsport body with a roll-over cage, a safety-optimized fuel tank box and further modifications which will be identical for all future customer sport versions.

The Audi TT is equipped with a TFSI engine delivering about 250 kW (340 hp). The front apron, rear apron and the rear wing stem from the production Audi TT RS. The hood, doors and trunk lid are made of CFRP and the windows of plastic. The TT is fitted with a S-tronic transmission with a differential lock, a modified production suspension with adjustable dampers, plus 9.5 x 18 inch light alloy wheels.

The Audi TT GT4 is planned to sell for about 120,000 euros. Audi is not only targeting Europe but also the Asian market. On the occasion of the DTM race in Shanghai the Audi TT is being launched in the Chinese market as well.

The five-time Le Mans winner Frank Biela did some demo laps in the new Audi TT on the street circuit in Shanghai. Other cars that could be seen in action in Shanghai as well were the SP4T version of the TT RS and the Audi R8 LMS.

Camaro SS vs Challenger SRT 8: Video

The guys from Fifth Gear are at it again but this time they are comparing two American Muscle cars, the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger.


Race car driver and TV presenter Tiff Needell races the Chevrolet Camaro SS and Dodge Challenger SRT8 around a closed track to see which performs better.

The Chevrolet Camaro SS is available with a choice of engines, the most powerful is the LS3 which kicks out 426 hp and 569 Nm of torque.

The Dodge Challenger SRT8 is powered by a 6.1 liter Hemi engine developing 425 hp. so, the Chevrolet Camaro SS and the Dodge Challenger SRT8 are quite evenly matched in terms of power output.
