Freemont. We call it the new MPV of the Fiat which will arrive in Europe in 2011 picking up the baton of the Dodge Journey. It is because of the reorganization of the brand within the Chrysler Group, is expected cancellation of the Dodge in Europe. The car, however, does not disappear because the models that can operate commercially and will be rebranded absorbed into the Fiat range, as is the case of the Journey, now Fremont.

The anticipation is the authoritative Automotive News, according to which Fiat will Freemont already presented at the next Geneva Motor Show. For Fiat this is an important opportunity cost close to zero and to replace the Ulysse and, according to analysts overseas, a car like Freemont (ex Journey) thanks to the plus-wheel drive has an excellent potential hitherto untapped business in Europe because of the commercial network of the Dodge brand, the more modest than that Fiat has about 5,000 dealers.

A curiosity: the Fiat Freemont will be manufactured at the Toluca Mexico, the same factory that produced the 500 is destined for North America. An important technical innovation is represented by the replacement of the diesel engine 140 hp with the original Volkswagen 2.0-liter Fiat 170 HP: This is the first application engineering in Turin on a Chrysler model. For the rest of the Freemont resume features the latest evolution of the Journey, which recently presented to Dodge a facelift.
