Ford Figo has truly transformed the sales number of Ford In India. More than any other car from Ford India, Figo has contributed the most to this whooping increase in sales. Ford has sold 83,887 cars in India in 2010 which was a mere 290,488 cars in year 2009. The sales of Ford Figo alone ever since its launch in March 2010 is over 60,000 units. Ford Figo has also been awarded Indian Car Of The Year 2011 recently.
On this splendid rise, Ford India Managing Director Michael Boneham quoted "This has been an outstanding year for Ford in India with nearly triple digit growth rates. It is also extremely encouraging to see the Figo sweep many prestigious industry awards and it is gratifying to see so many Figos on India's roads"

Hyundai India had a great 2010 with a new milestone of selling 6 Lakh units in India in a single year. The rise in domestic sales has been 23.1% whereas there has been a decline in the exports from India of about 8.5%. Averaging out the total figures, it comes out that Hyundai India has registered an overall sales growth of 7.8% globally. The top selling cars by Hyundai has been Hyundai Santro, Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i20.
Talking about this achievement, Arvind Saxena, Director – Marketing and Sales, HMIL quoted ""The year 2010 has been positive for the industry and HMIL. For the first time since inception HMIL clocked record cumulative sales of over 600,000 units and new products like the Santa Fe as well as upgrades like the 'Next Gen' i10 have been very well received by the market and we continue to be a strong player in the domestic market. We expect the market to continue to grow in 2011 although the rate of growth may come down somewhat.

Toyota is growing stronger in India and has registered a growth in sales in the year 2010. The growth number stands at a strong 38% compared to the sales numbers of 2009. As per the official press release :
Bengaluru, Karnataka, January 4, 2011– Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 38% in sales in the year 2010, compared to last year. It sold 74759 units in the calendar year 2010 against 54320 units in 2009.
Commenting on the sales for the year 2010, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director-Marketing, TKM said, " We are very happy with the response we have received from our customers in 2010. This year has witnessed the most important launch in the history of Toyota in India – The launch of Toyota Etios and the unveiling of the hatchback Toyota Etios Liva. The first batch of Etios – more than 400 units – have already been dispatched to the dealerships and we have begun delivering vehicles to the customers. The vehicle are on display at most of our dealerships.
In 2011 we look forward to a) the launch of the hatchback Liva in April b) establishing the brand of Toyota among the masses with the Etios and hatchback Liva c) giving our customers a Q Class Experience.
On behalf of TKM, I wish all our customers a wonderful year ahead and thank them for trusting us and our products for all these years. We look forward to serving them in 2011."
Toyota also announced that bookings for the Fortuner will reopen on Jan 1 2011. The bookings were last reopened on July 2010 for a period of one month.The Fortuner launched in Aug 2009 has since sold more than 15000 units acquiring 57 % market share in the mid SUV segment.
