Honda Brio Small Car India Launch In Sep 2011–Will Target Small Cities Of India

Honda SIEL Cars India is not very proud of the history of sales figures of its hatchback Honda Jazz in India. Honda Jazz has been a premium hatchback from Honda has not been able to attract high volumes of sales as opposed to the smaller hatchbacks in the price bracket of 3.5 to 5 Lakhs. To take a share of this large market for small cars in India, Honda will launch its small car Honda Brio in Indian around September 2011. The expected price of the Honda Brio will be kept below Rs. 5 Lakhs tag to compete with the rival brands with low price offerings.

Honda will tie up with state-run regional banks to provide attractive finance schemes for Brio and will strengthen its sales and service network in smaller cities to increase its presence across India. This will help boost the sales of the small car which is meant for larger audience. Honda India vice-president Jnaneshwar Sen told media:

“We are not exactly focusing on the major metros with Brio, it will cater to urban nucleus families, but will meet specific needs of larger family units in small towns.”

Hero Group 3 Wheelers For India Soon

Hero Honda has almost split now and Hero group is continuing the business as it has been and also looking for avenues of expanding into more products. Recently there was news of Hero Group working on 400 CC Diesel Engine bike. Now as per information from some vendor, Hero group is planning to enter the 3-wheeler space in India. In India, Bajaj, TVS and Piaggio are the existing players in this business. At present, the larger share of the 3 Wheeler people and goods carrier is occupied by Bajaj and Piaggio as these are two old players while TVS launched its 3 Wheelers in 2008 only. Hero Honda has a 150 CC & 225 CC engines which powers bikes of Hero Honda, the same single cylinder air-cooled petrol engine maybe to power the 3 wheeler with some modifications to make it appropriate for the 3 Wheeled people carrier. Eventually, Hero Group will also venture into 3 Wheeler goods carrier as well.

Honda has displayed its two Honda Civic concept cars at the Detroit Auto Show 2011. The Honda Civic 2012 Sedan and Honda Civic Si Coupe 2012 concept. Both the cars looks similar to the initial sketch released by Honda in the year 2010. The cars looks stunning and have a distinctive grilled and sharp smoky headlamps. The alloy wheels are also very pleasing to eyes and looks sporty. Both the sedan and coupe have been give sharp styling. The tail lamps have triangular curves and slightly extend to the side rear of the cars. The coupe looks quite attractive from the side with the two door design. The large front wind-shield and rear wind-shield are curved and merge into the roof which has been painted black to give it a real sporty aesthetics when viewed from top.

Mercedes Benz India Highest Sales Ever in Year 2010

Mercedes Benz India sells luxury cars in India, it has been in close competition with the BMW India which is number 1 in luxury car sales for past two years. In the year 2010, Mercedes Benz has recorded its highest ever luxury car sales in India in a calendar year. The luxury car maker sold a total of 5819 cars in India in 2010 compared to 3250 cars in the year 2009, registering a sales growth of about 80% which is a superb increase for any luxury car brand. This strong growth is a a reflection of recovering economy and increasing purchase power of the people in India. The best sellers from Mercedes Benz India has been its C-Class selling 2070 units and E-Class selling 2490 units in the year 2010.

In the year 2010 has also been another record, the highest ever December sales by Mercedes Benz in India. Selling a total of 710 units i n the month of December alone by giving its customers special year end officers and benefits. Lets see if Mercedes can beat BMW India in sales numbers in the year 2011 to take away the No.1 Luxury Car Seller India title.

BMW India Overtakes Mercedes Benz India In Sales

BMW has overtaken Mercedes Benz India in sales of luxury cars. With a sales figure of over 6246 luxury cars sold in the year 2010 compared to the total number of cars sold by Mercedes Benz which stands at 5819, BMW is India's number 1 luxury car maker. This is second time in a row, year 2009 and year 2010 when BMW has let Mercedes behind in sales numbers. These two brands are usually neck to neck with each other and the difference between the sales numbers however is not very high. To mark this success story for BMW, the BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series have played a major role with sales number of 2432 and 2403 cars respectively which accounts for a total of about 77% of the total BMW cars sold in India in the year 2010.

The total increase in the sales of BMW cars in India compared to the sales in the year 2009 has been 73% which is a phenomenal growth in sales for a luxury car maker in a price sensitive economy like India. This sales growth has been responsible for the expansion in production at BMW India plants.
