Posted: 18 Jan 2011 07:48 AM PST

The manufacturer will present its concept car Subaru Subaru FT-86 during the Geneva Motor Show 2011. The car, developed in collaboration with Toyota, so to go alongside the eponymous prototype designed by the latter. The FT-86 is a sporty coupe with rear wheel drive and Subaru in the house is now known as “Subaru Rear-Wheel Drive Sports Car Concept Technology” (prototype sports car with rear-wheel drive Subaru). The company has confirmed that under the hood there will be a traditional boxer engine of the brand.

“The concept car – said the manufacturer – shows that Subaru intends to integrate its experiences in the boxer engine with a rear-wheel drive vehicle that offers a driving experience more fun. ”

Not much else is known about Subaru FT-86, except that it should be derived from the Subaru Impreza STI, and as such leaves the famous symmetrical all-wheel drive that has given so much satisfaction with the manufacturer over the years.

Toyota’s sister brand (which is jokingly called Toyobaru, given the close collaboration between the two brands in the development of the car) we can say that will not be on sale before 2013. Since the two FT-86 share the same platform, it is very likely that the interpretation of this Subaru sports coupe will be presented in much the same period.

The nose was made flashy and aggressive with a grid almost disproportionate and large air intakes. The double five-spoke wheels blacks and white livery, red and black make this version of the Toyota iQ interesting and fascinating. Technical details were not disclosed.

This car will certainly smile all those who looked with sympathy the deluxe edition of the Toyota iQ, alias Aston Martin Cygnet. That produced by Gazoo Racing offers a supercharged engine and a strut with a true sporting look and character.

The new BMW 6 Series Coupe: in these latest spy photos of the big sport of Monaco is almost as if it was immortalized in the parking lot of a dealership.
