Car Prices After Budget 2011 Likely To Increase

Car prices after the budget is announced in Fed 2011 might go higher. The reason for the hike maybe the expected 2% increase in the excise duties on the small car for the second time in a row as it did last year in 2010 Indian budget. As during the recession the year 2008-09 globally, Indian Govt. implemented a cut on the excise duty from 12% to 8%. Last year in 2010 budget, the rate had been revised upward to 10%. Rumors are that this year in 2011, the rates may further be increased by 2% bringing it to 12% as it was before the economic crisis. This increase in excise duty will hit the automobile market sales adversely, especially the small car segment buyers who are most sensitive to the cost. Nothing is official as of now, but the chances are high that it will be revised upwards. Lets keep our fingers crossed and wait until the official budget speech by the Finance Minister of India.

Diwali is the shopping season of India, just like Christmas in USA, people in India wait for Diwali to make their important purchases. Many Indian automobile majors strategically select to launch their new products around Diwali expecting a good head-start for sales. Mahindra and Mahindra will introduce its world SUV also known as W201 internally in Mahindra. The SUV is mainly targeted at the USA and European markets and will be priced northward of Rs. 15 Lakhs.

To comply with the strict emission and safety norms of USA and Europe, the SUV will incorporate modern technologies in the SUV. It will feature lots of advance engine technologies and safety features. The details are yet to be released but rumors are that the engine will churn out close to 150 BHP with 2.2 Liter CRDI Diesel Engine and will have 6 speed manual transmission. We expect it to be powerful and punchy at the same time keeping it efficient amongst the ever increasing awareness towards environmental impact of large vehicles. The safety features like ABS, ESP are also quite likely.

The Mahindra World SUV In India will compete with Honda CR-V, Skoda Yeti, newly launched BMW X1, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavor etc.

Audi Delhi Showroom At Mathura Road – India’s Largest Luxury Car Showroom

Audi India Head, Michael Perschke inaugurated the Audi Delhi facility located on Mathura Road in Delhi. The facility is located close to Faridabad border in south of Delhi. With a floor area of about 30,00 Square feet, its India's largest luxury car showroom as of now. The new showroom and service facility is also equipped to service the luxury cars. This facility can service up to 25 Audi cars in a day.

Speaking at this occasion, Michael Perschke quoted :

The showroom, which is the second to be inaugurated in 2011, is the largest luxury car showroom in the country. Audi A8 L Variant Launched By Audi India at Rs. 89 Lakhs

Audi has launched the L version of its luxury sedan Audi A8 L which is priced at Rs. 89 Lakh Ex-Showroom Delhi. The super luxury car is equipped with super luxury features, a special rear seat Massage, Heat, Ventilation System. The car has new LED technology head lamps, panoramic glass roof, touch based entertainment system,night vision assistance system, and stunning exteriors. The car comes as price of Rs. 89 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The deliveries of Audi A8 L will start around June 2011.

Hindustan Motors Small Car (Sub-Ambassador) Coming in July 2011

Hindustan Motors India is known for its iconic car, the Hindustan Motors Ambassador which is a robust and reliable sedan which is used by most of the Govt. Officials in India. The Hindustan Motors is not only going for the transformation of the Ambassador into a shorter version with a new engine, but also its developing an altogether new product. A new small car is in the making from Hindustan Motors. The name as well as the details of this small car are not revealed officially as yet, but as per some information from dealers, the small car is very much in the making and is schedules for a July 2011 launch.

The small car will be shorter than the Ambassador and will be priced lower. The car is expected to have a smaller engine too. The car will be manufactured in the Uttarpara plant in West Bengal which has some unutilized capacity to start with the production. In the longer run, more capacity can be added looking at the sales figures in future.
