Video showing some of the features on the Chevy Cruze Eco

Chevrolet has released this short video telling us about some of the features on the new Chevrolet Cruze Eco.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco is powered by a 1.4 liter turbo 4-cylinder Ecotec engine that produces 138 hp and a maximum torque of 148 lb-ft. The 1.4L turbo models are expected to have a cruising range of more than 500 miles and the Cruze Eco is estimated to get an EPA fuel-economy rating of 42 mpg on the highway.

Chrysler developing natural gas engines for Ram pickups

Chrysler Group are currently exploring the possibility of adding natural gas engines to the Ram Truck powerplant lineup.

Chrysler are looking into this new engine addition in order to cut emissions and keep costs down. Right now, the company is considering experimenting with using CNG powered Rams to sell to fleet customers, who are likely to have their own fueling stations.

Lee Iacocca’s special Edition Mustang up for auction

Back in 2009 a special edition Ford Mustang was created as a tribute to the legendary Lee Iacocca and it was called the Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang.

Only 45 units were built, making it one of the most desirable Mustangs of all time and Lee Iacocca had one built for himself. Well he is now auctioning off this special edition Mustang with all the proceeds being donated to the charity Keep Memory Alive. Not only will the winner of the auction win the car, but they will also have the exclusive opportunity to have lunch with Mr. Iacocca in Los Angeles.

This particular Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition Mustang is number 19 of 45, it features the optional Ford Racing supercharger good for 400 horsepower as well as 14-inch brakes, 20-inch chrome wheels, custom leather interior, a certificate of authenticity and more.

Bidding on the car is currently at $80,000, but with an estimated value of $120,000 the reserve has yet to be met. The auction ends on February 23rd, so if you are interested you better hurry.

2008 BBP Cuda: Car of the Week

Here is this week’s Car of the Week, it is a BBP Cuda, Plymouth enthusiast – Curtis J Macintyre commissioned Metalcrafters to build it.

The 1970-74 "E" Body Barracuda design has been built onto a 4-inch shortened 2007 Charger chassis. The engine, interior and other components remained from the Dodge Charger but the body has been fully customized to mimic a classic Cuda.

Mitsubishi enters Guinness book of world records

For a new marketing campaign Mistsubishi took an Outlander and Outlander sport to Ghost Lake in Canada to try and break as many World Records as possible in 24 hours.

After a freezing day on the ice Mitsubishi manged to achieve the following world records.

• Fastest Vehicle Slalom Relay on Ice: 1 min 11 seconds

• Shortest Braking Distance by a Vehicle on Ice: 56.2 meters

• Most Vehicle Figure-8′s on Ice in 2 minutes: 3 laps
• Greatest Distance by a Vehicle Traveling in Reverse on Snow in 30 seconds: 300 Meters
• Fastest Driven Square Lap on Gravel: 19 seconds

So there we go, congratulations to Mitsubishi for achieving these World Records!

Gumpert Tornante to be unveiled at Geneva auto show

Gumpert are planning on unveiling a new supercar at this year’s 2011 Geneva auto show, called the Tornante this new model will be the second edition to the company’s lineup which currently consists of just the Apollo.

The Gumpert Tornante will have it’s first public appearence next month and and Gumpert is promising that it will be a rock star. This new supercar has been designed by Italian coach builder Touring Superleggera, it will feature softer lines and a design that has been based around pure efficiency.

The new Gumpert Tornante will compete with other super high-end cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini and position itself as a company that can hang with the worlds elite. Power will come from a twin-turbo Audi 4.2 V8 engine that is speculated to produce around 700 hp.

We will bring you more information after its debut at Geneva.
