Stay awake while driving with the Anti-Sleep Pilot iPhone app Posted: 08 Mar 2011 07:08 AM PST Motorists who drive for long hours or at night are often at risk of falling asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle and occasionally drivers have nodded off with the results being fatal. Some manufacturers have brought out systems to combat this, but they are generally only available in luxury vehicles. Well there is now a new system that is available on the Apple iPhone that could prevent falling asleep at the wheel and its called the Anti Sleep Pilot.
This new Apple iPhone application helps you calculate fatigue levels and helps keep you awake, or reminds you that its time to pull off the road and rest up a bit. The app uses the phone's GPS and accelerometer to detect dangerous fatigue levels, and prompts the user to complete simple tasks, such as pushing a button on the screen, to maintain alertness. When it is determined that fatigue is at a dangerous level, it will audibly and visibly alert the driver to pull over. The Anti Sleep Pilot app is priced at $20 which is a small price to pay for something that may save your life and the lives of others. This application is currently only available on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. Related Posts You may Find Interesting |
