Audi RB-1200 S Sport Concept

Posted: 28 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

What's good y'all? Following in the footsteps of BMW and their success with the S1000rr, Audi has come out with a two-wheeled concept, even without a tradition in building motorcycles. Check out the design by Garvin Harvey.

Dubbed the Audi RB-1200 S, the performance bike concept uses details from Audi cars, such as the lights from the R8 model to link the bike to the car. Specifically, the Audi R8 standard headlights are comprised entirely of light-emitting diodes (LED).

Also, the front brake will be Audi red, while it will also have the Audi logo (4 circles) engraved in to the metal. In addition to that, the rear of the bike will have a twin exhaust, located under the seat under the rear lights. As for the seat, this will be made from leather, with carbon fiber detail and will also have the Audi four rings engraved in the material.

However, the overall design seems to be inspired by the famous Auto Union D-Type race cars from the 1930s. Finally, though most of you are mostly preoccupied with the performance aspects of such a bike, expecting to see figures that could leave the R8 behind.

All i know is, I can’t wait to ride it!

Peace!

Studdly

Motorcycle Highside in Icey Conditions

Posted: 27 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

What’s up people? Now that winter is in full swing here, I just wanted to take this opportunity to ask you all to slow down and be careful out there on your motorcycles.

Below is a video shot with a GoPro camera of a 44mph accident in icy conditions. Take a look.

So, what did we learn? Proceed slowly, don’t make any sudden movements, and don’t ride into tracks made by other heavier vehicles. Be safe out there folks.

Stay tuned.

2011 New Aprilia Tuono V4R Official Video

Posted: 26 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

Hey guys, Jon here again. Below you will find the official promo video from Aprilia for their new V4R naked bike. It is slated to be an awesome bike, but it’s a horrible, and cheesy video. Check it out.

Yeah, I don’t know what’s up with the Nickelback soundtrack and horrible translation. I mean, how difficult is it to find a proper Italian/ English translator?

Anyways, stay tuned for more updates.

Ex-Ducati Man Leads Norton into America

Posted: 25 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

Hey, what’s going on guys? Looking to strike in a weak economy, Norton has announced that it plans to make its first shipments of new machines to the U.S. starting from May of next year.

The revived British marquee announced that it has appointed former Ducati North America boss Dan Van Epps to head-up its operations in the States and to guide the firm's much anticipated return to the American market.

Van Epps is a former CEO of Ducati North America and, while based in Bologna, Italy, Ducati's Director of Overseas Markets.

Norton Boss Stuart Garner said:

"We have been producing the new 961 Commandos for almost two years, and the orders have been well beyond our most enthusiastic expectations. We've had to ramp-up production much earlier than anticipated to grow on pace with our customer's requests", noted owner and CEO Stuart Garner. "The exciting news is that we are now ready to enter the important US market, and we've chosen Dan Van Epps be CEO of Norton Motorcycles USA. Dan's depth of experience, and our policy here at Norton to add to the team only the best motorcycle industry professionals, makes him a perfect fit".

Van Epps added: "This is really an exciting opportunity for us, and we are all confident about our future, however, I am keenly aware of the magnitude of the responsibility in the introduction of Norton to the USA", said Van Epps. "We are fulfilling the dream and delivering the excitement of a truly iconic all British motorcycle. Partnering with dealers who likewise understand the significance of this brand and its rich heritage is critically important and will be the key to our success".

Stay tuned for more updates.

Posted: 24 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

Hi guys! Special versions of the Yamaha R1 and R6 featuring new Ohlins suspension components are going to be unveiled at the NEC in Birmingham. It’s not the cheap Ohlins stuff either. It is the real gold Ohlins TTX 336 rear shock and pair of Ohlins Road and Track forks.

The special R1, codenamed Project 14B, has also been given Galfer Wavy brake discs, two-finger ASV levers, Gilles rear sets, a pair of Akropovic Carbon slip-on exhausts and cosmetic tweaks including a new paint scheme.

The R6, called Project 13S, features similar modifications but with an Ohlins NIX 30mm cartridge fitted to enhance the original forks.

They are to be unveiled at the Carole Nash Motorcycle Live show alongside made-over versions of the R125 and XJ6 Diversion F, which have also received the Ohlins treatment.

Stay tuned for more updates.
