Skoda Sold 29% More Cars In November 2010

Skoda's sales figure has increase by a strong 29% in November 2010 compared to the same month last year. Skoda has sold 1841 units of cars this year in the month of November. Below is the official press release from Skoda :

Mumbai- 1^st December, 2010: SkodaAuto India, a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto a.s., Czech Republic and one of the most promising automobile companies in India today announced a sales growth of 29% for the month of November 2010. SkodaAuto India's total sales for November 2010 stood at an impressive 1841 units as against 1425 units in November 2009. Skoda has registered impressive growth in this year riding on the success of the two new launches; the new Skoda Fabia and Skoda Yeti.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Director & Board Member, Sales and Marketing, SkodaAuto India said "I am extremely delighted with SkodaAuto's continuing growth as we gear up for the exciting period ahead. We are pleased with the overwhelming response we have received with the introduction of our two new cars in the Skoda lineage in India; the New Skoda Fabia and Skoda Yeti. The bookings of both these cars have been extremely encouraging. We are confident that these new additions by SkodaAuto will create more zeal and excitement for the customers".

Mr. Ashutosh Dixit, Senior General Manager, Sales and Marketing, SkodaAuto India commented "The overwhelming sales have been a result of our aggressive expansion strategy across India. Over the years SkodaAuto India has successfully established a well knit dealer network which has enabled us to cater to the ever growing demand for the Skoda cars. We have now expanded our network to 66 dealerships and a total of 7 boutique showrooms with the recent opening of Skoda's first boutique showroom; Torque Automotive Pvt. Ltd. in Gujarat. We are confident to see a further boost in our sales owing to our latest offerings; New Skoda Fabia and Skoda Yeti, which are available across all our dealership showrooms".

SkodaAuto achieved another milestone with the roll out of the 1,00,001st car from its plant at Aurangabad. The fact that the 1,00,001st car was a Yeti, one of Skoda's recent launches, makes it an even more special event. The occasion was graced by H E Mr Miloslav Stasek, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, and Mr Stackmann,- the Board Member for Sales and Marketing at SkodaAuto a.s. and Chairman of SkodaAuto India.

Toyota Etios Sedan Features

Exterior

A distinctive front grille with a smile line, sculpted surface and dynamic character-line in the front and rear, enhance the presence of the Etios. The rear has a fluent flowing C pillar, rounded end and three-dimensional combination lamps that enrich the vehicle's exterior from different angles.

Interior

The seats are ergonomically designed units with integrated head rests. An instrument panel clearly divided into the information area and operation area with a large center meter provides excellent visibility. The Etios has class best cabin and luggage space of 595L, a spacious 13L cooled glove box, seven one litre bottle holders, mobile holder and many more such useful storage spaces inside the car.

Performance and Comfort

A newly developed 1.5L, 16V DOHC engine coupled with a 5-Speed manual transmission that produces high output for best-in-class driving performance. The torque is available at low rpm for less gear shifting and stress-free city driving.

The Etios has a superior mileage of 17.6kmpl which is ARAI tested.

Electric power steering for excellent maneuverability and tilt steering ensures a good ergonomic driving experience. The steering comes with audio controls for comfort at the driver's fingertips.

The flat type rear floor design offers ease of movement for rear seat passengers. With its rigid body structure and world class Mac Pherson Strut, the Etios has superior dampening performance providing superior ride comfort.

A class-first 'clean air filter' which is standard across all grades for purified air in the cabin.

Safety

The Etios has various active and passive safety features ensuring the car matches global safety standards. The various safety features are (i) Energy absorbing body shell (ii) Driver & Passenger Air bags and (iii) ABS with EBD.

Its centrally located combimeter reduces eye movement and hence the driver can concentrate on the road.

Special Treatment

To adopt to the various diverse climate and usage conditions in India, special treatment and countermeasures have been implemented:

- Good ground clearance of 170mm

- Under body protection to prevent damage to fuel and brake lines

- Anti-corrosion steel sheets at areas prone to rusting and stone hits

- Chipping resistant paint on rocker mould & fender

Toyota had officially launched Toyota Etios Sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in India today. The ex-showroom Delhi price of Toyota Etios Sedan are as follows :

Toyota Etios Sedan J is priced at Rs. 4.96 Lakhs
Toyota Etios Sedan G is priced at Rs. 5.46 Lakhs
Toyota Etios Sedan G with safety features is priced at Rs. 5.96 Lakhs
Toyota Etios Sedan V is priced at Rs. 6.41 Lakhs
Toyota Etios Sedan VX is priced at Rs. 6.68 Lakhs

Bookings will be accepted starting today and the deliveries will start from January 2011.
