Nissan Planning Two Small Cars Cheaper Than Micra To Rival Alto & Wagon R

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 08:30 AM PST

Nissan has always been a potential car manufacturer but unfortunately its luck never worked as far as the Indian Automobile market is concerned until Nissan Micra stepped into the same. The Micra being a small car has gathered a lot of appreciation but has not been able to get much sales figures.

Should it be considered as a strategic drawback? Well we guess it is certainly not as the company has sensed the specific requirements of our very market and is now planning to increase its small car line-up with two more cars down the line and most interesting thing about the same is the price which is speculated to be even lower than the Micra's price.

The company has two models down the line code named as K2 and I2 which will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R, Maruti Suzuki A-star and Maruti Suzuki Alto respectively.

Nissan Small Car K2 Specifications In India

The K2 will be built on the two generation old K11 platform earlier used for Micra and will get a new top hat or all new interiors. The launch of the car is due for December 2012 and is said to be priced very competitively around Rs.3.5 Lakh. Technically the car will sport a 1.2 Litre 3-Cylinder MPFI petrol heart while a 1.0 Litre variant is also expected.

As said by experts the K11 platform helped the company save as much as Rs.50,000 bringing down the cost of the vehicle to make the competition even more harder.

Nissan Small Car I2 Specifications In India

The next car I2 will compete against the Alto and is being developed by Ashok Leyland's subsidiary Defiance Testing and Engineering as the former is carrying a joint venture with Nissan. Ashok Leyland with its planned ways will try to bring down the cost to Rs.2.5 Lakh and is likely to be introduced by 2013.

The new plans seem to be very promising and we look positively towards the two new products.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 CC Will Have Single Cylinder Engine

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 03:44 AM PST

Bajaj has been doing great with its Bajaj Pulsar range of bikes in India. It's one of the high selling bikes in India and is quite popular especially with youth in India. We brought you a story about Bajaj Pulsar 250 CC back in March 2010. Eventually it has come out to be a different bike. As per some ancillary sources, Bajaj was about to sell a 2 cylinder 250 CC bike in India, which was mistakenly identified to be a Pulsar. The truth is that the two-cylinder engine pulsar has not been on Pulsar product range so far. Kawasaki Ninja 250R however seems to be the bike which matches the specifications which were suspected to be of Pulsar 250 back then.

As per the recent information, Bajaj will soon be launching a 250 CC single cylinder variant of Bajaj pulsar to compete with the Honda CBR250R and other 250 CC performance bikes scheduled for launch in the year 2011. One such expected launch is Yamaha FZ250 which may come around mid 2011.

Tata Optimistic About Nano Sales – Increases Production to 150%

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 12:25 AM PST

Tata Motors has been trying hard to promote and market its wonderful small car Tata Nano through special 48 hour finance scheme, 4 years free extended warranty and up to 90% finance via TMF. Also the new Tata Nano TV commercials being aired on Indian television are also quite interesting and create a good impression of Tata Nano. These all efforts are actually working quite well as Tata has clocked 5700 units sales of Tata Nano in December 2010 alone. This is a great sales figure and a good response for the world's cheapest small car. Tata has increased the production of Tata Nano at its Sanand plant from previous 200 units a day to 300 units a day to meet the expected rise in the demand of Tata Nano over coming months.

Tata Motors Dealerships are also quite optimistic about the demand and sales figures of Tata Nano in the months to come. At present there is no other car in the segment of Tata Nano both in terms of price bracket as well the fuel economy. An improvement in the image of the product in the minds of the potential buyers and proof of credibility of the product with time will help boost the sales further.

We will keep an eye on the developments related to Tata Nano. Stay tuned for more news.
