Maruti 800 Replacement Code-name Maruti YE3 Coming In 2012

Maruti 800 has been a legend in India for decades before it got finally phased out from the cities with BS4 emission norms implemented last year. With time, it will be phased out completely when BS4 emission norms will be applied nationwide. To make up for the missing candidate in the small car of Maruti 800 portfolio, Maruti Suzuki is working hard with its research and development team and the 100% made in India car, code named Maruti YE3 is in the making. The Maruti YE3, which will be given a name later by Maruti, will debut at the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi. Maruti will display the Indian engineering product at the expo to gain public reactions and feedbacks. Based on the reactions and feedback, some tweaks and feature changed will be done to the small car before it hits the assembly line for mass production. The car Maruti YE3 will be launched by mid of 2012 if all goes well. Last year, there were some reports about possibility of Maruti Suzuki bringing its Japanese small car to India as Maruti Cervo, which seems quite unlikely as Maruti is now working on an indigenous and new design YE3 which will be more suited for India.

Although Maruti might not bring Cervo car with 660CC, 54 BHP engine to India, yet the possibility of Maruti YE3 using the same engine can not be sidelined. Also there is a possibility to use the existing Maruti Alto's 800 CC engine with some re-tuning which has a good fuel economy. Maruti YE3 will most likely be priced at Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs.2.5 Lakhs to place it aptly below the Alto 800 CC and competitor cars. Its now a wait and watch situation as the development is on but the official information will most likely be announced around January 2012 around the Auto Expo 2012 to be held in Delhi.

The primary competitors of Maruti YE3 will be Hyundai 800, Tata Nano V2, Chevrolet Spark 800, Maruti Alto 800 CC and other small cars which will hit Indian roads by mid of 2012. We are keeping our fingers crossed and eyes open to watch out for any interesting developments in this more than ever intense small car market in India.

Skoda Co-Sponsoring Mumbai Cyclothon – Tour de Mumbai I & II, 2011

Skoda India announced its association as co-sponsors with second edition of Mumbai Cyclothon – Tour de Mumbai I & II, 2011 . SkodaAuto is associating with this event for the second consecutive year to promote greener, safer and healthier environment in India. SkodaAuto Cars will be a part of the convoy and be the safety and support cars at the cyclothon.

The cyclothon is being held under the aegis of Swiss based International Cycling Federation, International Cycling Union & Cycling Federation of India in association with ID sports to accentuate cycling habits and its benefits in India. In its second edition, the first leg of the Tour will be held in Nashik (180 km) on February 11 before the peloton travels to Mumbai (108 km) on February 13.

The race has confirmed participation of two internationally acclaimed pro tour cycling teams-USA's Radio Shack – the winners of Tour de France, 2010 and Italy's Liquigas- a Grand Tour double winner on board as participants.

The race with huge participation is offering multiple participation categories- Elite International Men (108 Kms), Amateur Ride (28 kms), Green Ride (15 km), Kids Ride (3 km), Corporate Challenge Ride (14 kms).The Elite race category will also see participation from 44 most promising Indian cyclists selected by the Cycle Federation of India (CFI) across 22 states.

Chevrolet Camaro Launch In India By End of 2011

General motors has confirmed the information that its will soon launch the Chevrolet iconic car Chevrolet Camaro in India. The timeline for the launch will be the end of year 2011. The speculation of the launch of Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette has been high ever since the display of Camaro at the Auto Expo 2010 in Delhi. Its now official that General Motors will soon start to manufacture the right hand drive variant for India, which will be imported to Indian as a CBU which will attract heavy import duties. The purpose behind the launch is to strengthen the Chevrolet brand in India. GM is not expecting high sales volume of this premium car and will not assemble or manufacture Camaro in India to reduce the cost.

Volkswagen Tiguan 2012 Facelift Pictures Revealed–May Come To India In Next one year

Volkswagen is one of the world's leading automobile makers and has its presence in almost all the segments of vehicles. Volkswagen has recently revealed official pictures of uplifted variant of its SUV Volkswagen Tiguan. The facelifted variant has been cosmetically uplifted from exteriors. The front grilled is us now chrome horizontal lines with chrome VW logo in the middle. The Headlamps also look stunning with LED lighting and sharp styling.

The new facelifted Tiguan 2012 will be launched at the Geneva Motor show of 2011 and is expected to run on European roads soon. After the European launch, its expected that Tiguan may make its way to India as well. The booming SUV market which with strong players like Honda CRV, Skoda Yeti, BMW X1, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander etc. has a lot of potential for the gradually growing demand for SUVs.
