Motus MST-01 Revealed

Posted: 09 Mar 2011 09:00 PM PST

Hey guys, Jon here again. New US bike firm Motus has at last revealed its brutal new sports tourer, the MST-01. How will it do against BMW, Ducati, Aprilia, or KTM? We’ll have to wait and see.

Its Corvette-aping pushrod-operated 1650cc transverse V4 puts out 160bhp but despite that impressive peak Motus claim it's tuned not for power but real roads, real revs grunt that promises to leave rivals feeling weedy.

And before you say it's ugly, remember it's also up against Shamu, Honda's VFR1200.

The relaxed riding position machine is designed for post-sportsbike riders and combines a blend of old and new tech calculated to be maximally seductive to US buyers and lovers of 'real motorcycles' in Europe.

Its 90-degree v-twin mates pushrod valve operation with direct fuel injection – the automotive equivalent of false teeth and g-string. But based on a Le Mans GT1-class-winning design you'd be wrong to scoff at the spec.

The lump is claimed lighter, more compact and more easily serviceable than comparable rival units. And the whole package undercuts the VFR1200 by a good 40kg.

Today’s post is brought to you by the good folks over at CarJunkies. It’s a great looking site that connects people whom are into automobiles, as well as give Car Clubs a place to create an online presence to share and show off their Car Pictures.
