Tata Nano Production Will Become Thrice By March 2011

Posted: 05 Jul 2010 03:17 AM PDT

Tata has asked the vendors of Tata Nano parts to scale up their production levels to three times the current production levels which is about 10,000 Tata Nano car units per month. Its been just about a month and the rate of production is not at the full plant capacity as yet. Seeing the growing demand and increase in sales number of Tata Nano, it is a wise move to scale up the production targets to meet future demands for the cheapest car in the world.

I have already observed a lot of Nano cars on roads of Delhi in past few weeks after the Sanand Plant has been operational. Earlier I used to see a Tata Nano rarely. The most promising part of this growth expectation is almost no competition as yet in this segment. Also as the time passes and more and more Tata Nanos come on road, people's confidence and comfort level will improve for this car. We will keep you updated as we hear more.

Tata Overtakes Hyundai In Monthly Sales Numbers

Posted: 05 Jul 2010 02:53 AM PDT

Tata Motors is gaining heavy sales momentum with Tata Nano plant coming into action at Sanand in Gujarat. The sales & bookings of Tata Nano in the month of June has crossed 7000 mark. With such strong sales numbers, Tata Motors has marginally left Hyundai behind in terms of cars sales on monthly basis.

With strong hold of Tata on this Ultra Low Cost (ULC) car segment in absence of any present competition, the sales numbers are expected to reach even better heights in months to follow after the backlog of previous bookings is cleared. The rate at which the production is going on, Tata Nano will soon be available without any waiting period for the customers.

Fiat Small Car Launch In India By 2012

Posted: 04 Jul 2010 09:30 PM PDT

We all know Maruti Suzuki Alto which emerged as an iconic car in the under Rs. 3 Lakh segment and really stood up to the expectations of the common Indian customers who wish to get appropriate value for the money they pay. Long after the success of Alto other brands have also started aiming at the small car segment.

Fiat Topolino

From Nissan-Suzuki to Volkswagen-Ashok Leyland and Hyundai to Tata, every major has started targeting the small car segment and seek maximum sales from this spectrum covering almost 70% of the total car market. And with hope in their heart, Fiat is all set to enter this segment by year 2012 with a car based on the upcoming Fiat Topolino and will cost the Indian buyers not more than Rs. 3 Lakh. We have already covered a news related to this sometime back – Fiat Small Car Based On Fiat 500 Will Be Made In India.

Mr. Rajiv Kapoor, MD Fiat India said,

"It will be an all-new car, nothing to do with any of our other models and will be priced aggressively. It will compete with the Alto and will have a one-litre engine. The new car will be an India-specific one, made in India, made for India, keeping in mind the country's unique terrain and temperatures. Our R&D team is working day in and day out to develop the car that meets consumers' needs in the best manner. The small car market in India is blazing and there is intense competition. The entry level car space excites us,"

Compared to Hyundai and Maruti, Fiat is far behind when it comes to sales figures and optimistically looks for this car to do wonders for the brand and we hope the same as well.
