Ford India is going big when it comes to Ford Figo, not only in India with the remarkable sales figures and appreciation but now Ford will export it to 50 New Markets of the world. The new markets where Figo will be exported from India includes Mexico, North Africa and middle East.

The car is doing well in India sales with impressive sales figures from Jan 2010 to July 2010 of more than 46,700 units. This is certainly a good sign for Ford as well as Indian economy will benefit from the exports.

The current scenario of the Indian automobile buyers are getting more inclined to diesel engines over the petrol counterparts besides the high cost of the former ones. The main reason for this is the low running cost that a diesel engine incurs when compared to a petrol engine and luckily every major manufacturer in India offers diesel engines.

Honda is the only brand in India which has not offered even a single diesel variant of any of its cars and still manages to get an appreciable sales figures. But soon we will be seeing Honda cars sporting efficient diesel hearts which would not only help the company get additional sales but will let it create a new identity in the diesel category.

Honda is ready with a new 2.0 litre CRDI diesel engine which will be launched in India shortly after its European launch in 2012. So far Honda Accord and the Honda CR-V are the only two cars which are being offered with a 2.2 litre diesel engine overseas and this new India bound engine is likely to come equipped with the Honda City, Honda Jazz and the upcoming small car.

The brand has suffered a lot in terms of sales due to its petrol only offering and we wish the brand to do well with its new diesel engine technology.

Maruti Suzuki ranks number 1 in New Vehicles Sales Experience in India as per the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2010 India Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) StudySM released on August 31 2010. This survey study examines seven factors that contribute to overall satisfaction with the new-vehicle buyer sales experience (listed in order of importance): delivery process, delivery timing, salesperson, sales initiation, dealer facility, paperwork and deal.

Among the 11 brands ranked in the study, Maruti Suzuki ranks highest with an overall SSI score of 819 on a 1,000-point scale, and performs particularly well in five of the seven factors: delivery process, salesperson, sales initiation, dealer facility and paperwork. Following Maruti Suzuki in the rankings are Honda (816) and Skoda (812).

Bajaj Auto India Sales Increase By 55% Year On Year

Bajaj is one of the two wheeler majors in India and is no exception when it comes to Indian auto companies showing a strong positive sales growth in August 2010 YoY figures. We have recently shared the data of Year-on-Year Growth of Various Car Companies In August 2010.

Bajaj has reported a 55 percent growth in sales in August 2010 compared to August 2009. This is all time best sales numbers of Bajaj Auto with sales of approx 3.3 vehicle Lakh units on one month.

Not only domestic sales, but Bajaj has also reported an increase in export by 31 percent for the same period.

Boom In Car Sales In India For Most Car Brands

Year on Year comparison of the cars sold for various car companies in India shows a tremendous amount of increase. The car sales figures of August 2010 compared with August 2009 show a significant rise of 20 to 30 percent for most car companies. These sales figure show a big boom, which may seem hyped because of poor sales in August 2009 because of recession in economy and negative sentiments around August 2009. But anyways, prosperity and growth is always a welcome phenomenon and its really good that the economy is now finally out of blues.

This growth is more or less like a recovery for the whole Indian Automobile sector. The Year on Year growth numbers for some of the major car companies are :

Mahindra And Mahindra Auto sales grow by 29 %
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sales Grow by 26 %
Tata Motors India sales grow by 32.38 %
Hyundai India sales grow by 17.2 %
Chevrolet India or General Motors Sales go up by 34 %
Maruti Suzuki India Limited sales grow by 23.56% with highest ever car sales in a month ever in history of Maruti Suzuki India
Ford India Sales go up by 220 % , this exceptional growth is because of excellent sales of its small car Ford Figo
Skoda India Sales Growth is 24 %
