Hyundai India To Set Up New Diesel Engine Plant

Hyundai India will invest Rs. 400 crore and set up a CRDI Diesel Engine plant in India very soon. The annual capacity of the plant will be close to 1.5 Lakh units per year. The location of the plant is yet to be finalized and it will help Hyundai to avoid the imports of Diesel Engines from South Korea Hyundai plant. This will help increase localization of the cars and bring down the prices of Hyundai Diesel powered cars in India.

Suzuki Solio Launched In Japan – May Come To India?

Suzuki Solio is a large MPV which is longer than Maruti Wagon R, looks somewhat similar to Maruti EECO from exteriors and comes loaded with features like automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive, ABS and ESP. The car had been launched in Japan and comes with a powerful 1.2 Litre K-series engine producing a max power of 91 BHP. The car looks good from exteriors as well as interiors. It is quite possible that it may come to Indian with some modifications in future. The Japanese Solio Scoop was found sometime back on the Internet and the real car has come out to be same as the scoop pictures shown. The length of the car is 3.7 meters and interiors are spacious and comfortable keeping in mind the youth buyers.

Suzuki may bring Solio to India as a future replacement of the Maruti Wagon R which is a renowned and established car on Indian roads. The latest model of Maruti New Wagon R 2010 is giving some boost to Maruti Wagon R but with stiff competition from other small cars in the same price bracket like Hyundai i10, Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat etc. its crucial for Maruti to keep refreshing its offerings with time to stay strong in sales numbers. Solio will ever come to India or not is not sure as yet, but if it comes it will be modified and Indianized to fit the road conditions and price bracket of Indian market.
