Mitsubishi Global Small Car Concept For India Displayed At Geneva

Mitsubishi had released some sketches of the Global Small Concept Car in January 2011. Also called as “e-compact” car, it will be a small car which is still in concept phase. The car will be manufactured in Thailand, Asia and will be launched in India. Mitsubishi may bring it to India as a CKD unit or in later stages even manufacture it in India. The car will not only be sold in India or Asia, but it will be lost in many countries by Mitsubishi and it will be a globally recognized Global car for Mitsubishi. The Concept car displayed at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 is the prototype version of the sketches released in Jan 2011. The production version of the global small car will be launched early 2012, it may feature in the Indian International Auto Expo 2012 to be held in Delhi.

Mitsubishi global small car will feature highly efficient 1 Litre and 1.2 Litre MPFI Petrol engine with 5 speed manual transmission, Start Stop technology (Micro Hybrid) and Regenerative braking technology to make it even more efficient. The Indian version maybe slightly different from the global version as its expected to be slightly low on gadgetry and other expansive stuff to make it cost competitive in India where small car market is already a crowded space.

The concept car looks very elegant, sporty and futuristic. The front and rear of the car are very softly rounded with LED lights at the tail and headlamps. The design language looks very aerodynamic and performance oriented. The car stands out in design from the existing small cars in the Indian market with an elegance which is filled with attitude and style.

We will keep an eye on how the production version comes out to be with time. With the new entrants into this segment in India its getting more and more interesting with each day to see how these cars will change the game for selling small cars in India.

Tata Motors efforts to make a Full Throttle Team for Motor Sports are showing the positive impacts pretty fast. Recently Tata announced the formation of this team for participation in motor sports events, it has just been a few weeks and the team has bagged awards for Tata. Tata motors has claimed top three award in the Ndure A category and first and third positions in Ndure overall.

Tata Safari has won first prize in the Ndure A and overall Ndure category. Tata Xenon XT was first runner up in Ndure A and overall 3rd prize winner.

This is a good head start for the Full Throttle team from Tata. We wish them all the best for their future efforts.

Volvo S60 Sedan Launch Date In India 10 March 2010

Volvo had revealed its new luxury sedan Volvo S60 last year in Feb 2010, and guess what, its coming to India next week. The second Generation S60 features a variety of MPFI petrol engines and CRDI diesel engines across various models and trim levels. The Volvo S60 sedan in India is expected to be priced around Rs. 30 Lakh bracket which will compete with cars like BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes Benz C-Class etc.

Tata Nano Goes Up In Flames Again !

Tata Nano had been given a clean chit by Tata Motors after they studied the fire incidents which tool place with the Tata Nano cars last year. Tata also offered a safety recall for all Tata Nano cars in November 2010. Besides all these incidents, recalls and analysis, there has been yet another fire incident at Ahmedabad near the Shivranjani Crossroads. The owner of the Tata Nano Vipul Jani was returning home when the car caught fire in the rear side near the engine. A police complaint for the same incident has also been logged at the local police station. The owner of this car has bought it on May 1, 2010.

We hope there is some explanation as well as some action for the same as this kind of incidents are not acceptable.

Suzuki Swift S-Concept Pictures Interiors and Specifications from Geneva Motor Show 2011

Suzuki has displayed the S-Concept sports version of Maruti Swift 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show 2011. Last month Suzuki had released a Sketch of the Suzuki S-Concept. It's a concept car which shows some sport features incorporated on the new model 2011 Swift. The car looks very sporty with Black and Yellow Racing colors, racing seats, performance brakes, light weight alloys, high aspect ratio slick tyres, dual exhaust, spoiler wing at the rear, air vents on both sides on the rear bumper, large grille, HID Lamps, chrome look fog lamps, turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors. Air inlet vents near the rear doors give it a highly sport looks. It's a 2 door which gives it extremely attractive side looks.

Suzuki S Concept Specifications & Interior Pictures

The concept car features a 1.6 Litre sporty petrol engine with a 6 speed manual transmission. It has a dual exhaust unit. The alloy wheels used are 18 inch, 5 spoke. There are not much details available as yet as it's a concept and is meant more for research purpose.
